When planning a trip to the Disney Parks in Orlando and considering the right transportation options, it’s important to have the various transport possibilities in mind. I’ll share the different options to smoothly start your Disney adventure and return home just as smoothly!

Embarking on a day at the Disney parks in Orlando is a dream come true for many. However, to fully enjoy this magical adventure, choosing the right mode of transportation is essential. We’ll guide you through the various transportation options to reach the Disney parks in Orlando, ensuring you can make informed decisions before setting off and guaranteeing a smooth and enjoyable Disney journey.

Parking your car at the various parks

All Disney parks – Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom – have large parking lots where you can park your car. Parking costs $30 per day. The good news is that your parking ticket remains valid all day for all park parking lots. In other words, at no extra cost, you can ‘hop’ from one park to another with your car, which is ideal if you plan to visit multiple parks in one day. Additionally, trams run from all parking lots to the park entrances.

An exception

At the Magic Kingdom parking lot, trams also operate, but there’s an exception. Magic Kingdom is the only Disney park where you must be transported from the parking lot to the park by another means of transportation. Here are your two options:

The quickest option to travel to Magic Kingdom is by monorail.
If you have more time or want to experience a quieter mode of transportation, take the ferryboat.
Taking the Monorail to Magic Kingdom
One of the most iconic ways to travel to Magic Kingdom is via the monorail. It’s a fast train connection to and from the Magic Kingdom parking lot, but it also connects the park to several Disney Resort hotels.

For those who prefer a more leisurely pace, the ferry across the Seven Seas Lagoon is a beautiful way to arrive at Magic Kingdom. The boats depart from the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC).

In addition to the travel options mentioned above, Disney also offers an extensive bus service. This bus service connects all Disney hotels with Magic Kingdom. Fortunately, the buses run very frequently, increasing the likelihood that you’ll arrive at your destination quickly and easily.

There’s a direct monorail connection between Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. The monorail isn’t just a practical way to travel; it also offers spectacular views of the Walt Disney World Resort.

Just like at Magic Kingdom, there is also an extensive network of buses that take you from the Disney hotels to EPCOT.

Using the Skyliner to Hollywood Studios

With Disney’s relatively new Skyliner – a gondola system – you can travel to Hollywood Studios in a unique way. The Skyliner connects Hollywood Studios with various resorts and also with EPCOT.

Water taxis are available to connect Hollywood Studios with the EPCOT Area Resorts. It’s a beautiful route that is especially stunning in the evening – highly recommended.

The bus service also connects Hollywood Studios with other parts of the Walt Disney World Resort.

Because Animal Kingdom is a bit further away, the bus might be the most logical transportation option to reach this park. The buses connect the park with the Disney resorts and other parks.
